Biography
Callum is a Specialist in Oral Surgery. He is currently working as a Specialty Registrar in Oral Surgery and Honorary Clinical Teacher based at Glasgow Dental Hospital and School, a position he took up in 2020 following four years of Dental Core Training and a year of Vocational Training in the West of Scotland. He became a member of the Dental Faculty of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (MFDS) in 2017 and obtained a Membership in Oral Surgery (M(Oral Surg)) in 2024. He recently completed the Scottish Clinical Leadership Fellowship with NHS Education for Scotland and Scottish Government.
He has a Masters (MSc) in Patient Safety and Clinical Human Factors from the University of Edinburgh and is a graduate member of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors. Current roles include Portfolio and Logbook Lead on the Oral Surgery Specialty Advisory Committee (SAC) and previous roles have included being the Trainee Representative on council for the British Association of Oral Surgeons (BAOS). He is currently an NHS clinical member of the admissions committee at the University of Glasgow's Dental School. In his spare time Callum is a keen saxophonist and directs the Big Smile Big Band - a band of Dentists and Dental Students based in Glasgow. Callum is Co-lead on the MFDS part 2 preparatory course and is chairing the organisation of the Annual Dental Conference at the RCPSG in 2024.
