I'm a medical student, can I join the College?
Yes, you can. Anyone studying medicine at a UK university is eligible to join the College as an Affiliate Member. For medical students overseas you can join the College once you have completed your studies.
Do you have student membership?
Medical students can join as Affiliate Members. This means that for £16 a year, you get access to all the great benefits that come from being a member of a Royal College.
What support is offered for students?
We understand just how demanding training for a career as a doctor can be. That's why we offer wellbeing support and access to a range of College networks. You can also connect with a mentor via our mentorship programme, My Mentoring.
How do I join the College as a full Member?
You can become a full Member of the College when you pass and hold either a MRCS or MRCP(UK) diploma. These qualification are normally completed after you finish your foundation years, post university (in the UK, that's around seven or eight years after you started at medical school). Both the MRCS and MRCP(UK) can be completed with us and we offer a number of prep courses to help you succeed.
