Core Training – Internal Medicine
Having completed your Foundation Years, during your Internal Medicine training you have the time to refine your skills as a physician and complete your MRCP(UK) exams.
Taking around three years to complete, this is where you have the chance to understand more about the main specialties that support acute hospital care. Following these years, and after you’ve completed the necessary exams, it’s likely that you will move onto specialty training.
During this time, you can support your career as an Affiliate Member of the College. This will allow you to benefit from our unique position as the UK’s only multidisciplinary Royal College. That means you network with consultants and experts in your field and beyond. Additionally, you’ll receive up to 40% off our courses and conferences that can offer you valuable CPD points.
Affiliate membership costs just £15 a year.

I was fortunate to have colleagues and mentors guide me during my clinical journey and I want to offer progressive clinical education to junior colleagues and provide them access to benefits that the College can provide.
